What I’m Noticing

Last night’s short sleep appears to be the primary driver of today’s low energy, higher stress, and decision to fully rest. Despite poor sleep, I avoided nighttime glucose spikes, suggesting food timing rather than sleep duration may be the key glucose lever right now.

A post-meal glucose rise (~155) followed a celebratory Chinese meal, while a later salmon-and-salad dinner was stable and repeatable. Stress was psychological rather than physiological today—triggered by seeing the sleep score, not by workload.

Today’s Win

I secured a meaningful negotiation win and had a strong one-on-one with my boss. Even on low sleep, cognitive and professional performance held up.

Closed-Loop Hypothesis

If I improve sleep quality via temperature regulation (cooling the bed), then HRV and next-day energy should rebound—even without increasing total sleep time.

Tomorrow’s Experiment

Sleep with the BedJet set colder than baseline and track changes in sleep duration, HRV, and morning energy.
